The RC Zelda’s experience in supported decision making was presented at the Council of Europe Conference in Cyprus

On 27-28th March in Cyprus took place the conference “Human rights: a reality for all”, organized by the Council of Europe (CoE), that was aimed at presenting of the new EP strategy for the years 2017-2023 in the field of the rights of persons with disabilities .

Upon the invitation from the Council of Europe, the director of RC ZELDA, Ieva Leimane-Veldmeijere, presented to the conference participants the experience of our NGO in providing supported decision-making for persons with mental disabilities. The results of the RC Zelda’s pilotproject in supported decision making are also described in the research “A Study on the Equal Recognition before the law. Contribution towards the Council of Europe Strategy on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities”, published this March by the Centre for Disability Law and Policy, NUI Galway, in Ireand.
