On April 2010 the Resource Center “ZELDA” published its latest Newsletter which is available here. It covers issues such as: the key developments in mental disability advocacy from the second half of 2009 until March 2010; informed consent; applying Article 68 of the Latvian Medical Treatment Law in the context of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) case-law; the ECHR judgment in Salontaji-Drobnjak v. Serbia and the meaning of disability in light of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).

The Newsletter was prepared and printed with the financial support of the EEA financial instrument of Ice­land, Lichtenstein and Norway, the Norwegian government’s bilateral finan­cial instrument and the state of Latvia through the Society Integration Fund. Co-funding from the Open Society Institute was also used in the publication of the Newsletter.
